Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has shared a candid piece of advice for up-and-coming artists, warning them to prepare for the mental health challenges that often come with fame and success.

Taking to his social media page on Thursday, the Zanku hitmaker said that while young artists and their sponsors usually focus on marketing and promotion, they should also set aside funds for therapy and mental health support.

Zlatan wrote on X:

“If you get brother or sister wey be fast rising artist and you believe say he or she go blow, as una dey keep money for marketing and promo, make una dey keep therapist money for one side too cos lol!!!”

His post highlights the emotional toll of the music industry, echoing sentiments shared by several Nigerian stars over the years.

In 2022, for example, singer Omah Lay revealed that his battle with depression worsened despite seeking professional help. Many others have also spoken about the struggles of balancing fame, pressure, and personal life.

Zlatan’s message serves as a reminder that while the spotlight can be rewarding, it also comes with unique challenges — making mental health care just as important as music promotion.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
