Digital payments company Zoyk has entered a strategic partnership with Visa to expand and strengthen digital payment infrastructure in Zambia.

The collaboration is aimed at accelerating financial inclusion by improving access to secure, fast, and scalable payment solutions for individuals and businesses across the country.

According to both companies, the partnership will focus on expanding card acceptance, enhancing merchant payment systems, and supporting the growth of cashless transactions in Zambia.

Visa said the initiative aligns with its broader strategy of deepening digital payment ecosystems across Africa, while Zoyk noted that the partnership will help local businesses integrate more efficiently into global payment networks.

Financial technology experts say such collaborations are increasingly important in driving economic digitisation, especially in emerging markets where cash-based transactions still dominate.

The rollout is expected to support small and medium-sized enterprises by providing improved payment tools and reducing barriers to digital commerce.

Both companies reaffirmed their commitment to expanding financial access and supporting innovation in Zambia’s growing fintech sector.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
